Following a lobbying campaign by Gordon and local residents Wyre Forest District Council has agreed to purchase surveillance equipment to deter fly tipping in the lanes and lay byes around the District.

Under Freedom of Information Gordon found that fly tipping costs Wyre Forest District Council tax payers over £30,000 a year.

“This is a sum equivalent to the cost of two carers in the community and thus could be money better spent”, says Gordon.

Gordon asks residents to be vigilant and to report any incidents of fly tipping to him in a campaign to rid the area of this costly and anti-social scourge.
