County Councillor Gordon Yarranton is concerned that three key bus services in his County Division are now being monitored by officials.
“The service for Wribbenhall has been subject to letters of complaint in the local papers and I have been following up this issue with County Officers.
Last year Gordon fought successfully for the retention of the 9 9A bus service between Cookley and Kidderminster which had been suspended by the County Council on financial grounds. This is a service upon which students and older residents rely.
The Wribbenhall bus service will be included in the Wyre Forest retendering process planned for October 2017.
“It is a constant battle to keep these vital rural bus services going in Worcestershire but young people need them to get to school or college and elderly residents are reliant on them to travel to hospital appointments.
So, I will continue to keep pressing to get permanent rural bus services and I will keep local residents posted on developments”, says Gordon.
