On Saturday 20th of August a tree came down across the road at the entrance to Wolverley closing the village. Police were unable to raise the emergency services at County Hall.

Gordon was alerted by concerned residents and promptly called the Highways Officer at home – who quickly responded to get the tree cleared to reopen the village.

Gordon has written to the County Chief Executive expressing his thanks and those of the villagers for the officer’s quick response.
